Exchange 2007 http error 500 OWA: directory Auth in  ../Exchange Server/ClientAccess/Owa/ disappeared
maybe because of windows updates i lost a complete directory: ../Exchange Server/ClientAccess/Owa/Auth So there neither is owaauth.dll and we get http error 500. i already removed the virtual directory and tried to reinstall it with : <!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0cm; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} span.blsp-spelling-error {mso-style-name:blsp-spelling-error;} @page Section1 {size:595.3pt 841.9pt; margin:70.85pt 70.85pt 2.0cm 70.85pt; mso-header-margin:35.4pt; mso-footer-margin:35.4pt; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> New- OWAVirtualDirectory - OWAVersion "Exchange2007" -Name " owa (Default Web Site)", which ended up with an error: the virtual director y 'owa' already exists. (seems to be correct: in IIS Manager 'owa' is still listed under 'Default Web Site') Is there a way to rebuild the mentioned 'Auth' directory in order to have OWA functionality working again? thanks a lot for any help. I think that if the file was missing, you'd get a 404 error, rather than the 500, which is usually associated with a processing error. Can you see the auth folder in Windows Explorer, under the owa folder?Outlook Web Access For PDA , OWA For WAP www.owa-pda.com email a@t leederbyshire d.0.t c.0.m

Hi, To remove and renw OWA virtual directory, please follow these steps: Step 1 Create a new OWA virtual directory ============================= 1. Open exchange management shell, type: Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory -identity "owa (default web site)" 2. Then create a new OWA: New-OwaVirtualDirectory 3. Open Run, type iisreset to restart IIS related services. If the OWA still does not work, please move to the next step. Step 2: Recycle Application pools ========================== 1. Open IIS, Expand to Application Pools, 2. Recycle all the Application pools such as DefaultAppPool, exchangeApplicationPool. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
